Sometimes simple is best. So, in the summer when you’re looking for a simple cocktail look at what I refer to as the breeze brothers. With four simple ingredients and a lime for garnish you can make yourself, or your guest, two different but very nice and refreshing cocktails. The Sea Breeze with grapefruit juice leans towards a tarter drink and the Bay Breeze with pineapple juice leans towards a slightly sweeter drink. What always amazed me about these two drinks is how many recipes overwhelmed the drink with too much of one of the juices. For example, some recipes call for 3 oz of cranberry and only one of grapefruit and thus the drink taste more like cranberry and vodka then a Sea Breeze. I have found that the perfect balance for these drinks is a simple 2-2-3 ratio of ingredients with the three being either the grapefruit or pineapple juice to make them the star of each drink without overwhelming the drink. Easy to remember and doesn’t allow one ingredient to overpower another.
Ingredients:
- Grey Goose Vodka
- Fresh squeezed grapefruit juice (or Ocean Spray Grapefruit Juice)
- Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice
- Dole pineapple juice
- Lime – (garnish)

Bay Breeze
- Fill cocktail shaker with ice and then add ingredients for one cocktail.
- Grey Goose Vodka – 2 oz
- Dole Pineapple Juice – 3 oz
- Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice – 2 oz
- Shake cocktail until very cold (10-15 seconds)
- Strain drink using cocktail shaker into glass with fresh ice
- Garnish with thin sliced lime circle
Sea Breeze
- Fill cocktail shaker with ice and then add ingredients for one cocktail.
- Grey Goose Vodka – 2 oz
- Grapefruit juice – 3 oz (fresh squeezed or bottled)
- Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice – 2 oz
- Shake cocktail until very cold (10-15 seconds)
- Strain drink using cocktail shaker into glass with fresh ice
- Garnish with thin sliced lime circle
