A wonderful drink to introduce someone to bourbon is the Paper Plane.  This cocktail is well balanced and while having its fair share of booze the lemon juice adds a nice citrus note that tones the drink down and does not allow a Bourbon dominant flavor.  The Aperol, Amaro Nonino and lemon juice tame the Bourbon down to allow for a great drink for first time Bourbon drinkers or a nice alternative to Bourbon lovers.  My favorite thing about this cocktail is that it’s easy to make since it is comprised of equal parts of four ingredients and came be made quickly without any needed preparation.  For a Bourbon lover like me it’s a delightful variation that is very refreshing.   Give this a try and you won’t be disappointed.  If you want the bourbon to break through more than try a higher proof version (e.g. 9-year-old Knob Creek – 100 proof).  Enjoy!!!!!
