This month’s drink is a classic that does not get its proper recognition. As with many classics the Daiquiri has stood the test of time and is not only timeless but, as with many of the classics, simple to make given it only has three ingredients. Now many of us children of the 80’s remember a Daiquiri as a frozen drink made in a blender full of ice, Rum and strawberry Daiquiri mix. The classic Daiquiri is a bit more elegant and is made with white rum, lime juice and simple syrup served straight up in a chilled coupe glass. A Daiquiri is extremely refreshing and easy to drink and given its simplicity a great cocktail to entertain with. I hope this month I reintroduce many to this wonderful cocktail and give the Daiquiri its proper recognition as a classic. Enjoy!!!!
