A great drink the exudes everything about fall is a Pear Bourbon Delight. This cocktail utilizes Pear Brandy and Bourbon and utilizes a simple syrup that not only makes your home smell like fall but also adds a complex and delightful flavor. Simmering the honey water mixture with cinnamon, ginger and pears creates a wonderful scent and makes a simple syrup that has a wonderful flavor. This is one drink where the garnish made from pear pieces strained from the syrup added to wonderful; cherries is almost as good as the cocktail itself. Yes, you have to invest some time making the simple syrup, but the result is a drink worthy of praise on a cool fall evening. The good news is once the simple syrup is made the rest of the drink is easy to construct and the slight addition of ginger beer gives it a soft effervescence that caps off this wonderful cocktail. You can’t lose when you get a great smelling kitchen, a delightful drink and a fantastic edible garnish. All I can say is yum.
