Forgive me, but I am a big fan of a Cosmopolitan Cocktail (Cosmo) from time to time. I have always been amazed at how strong some bars make them, using plain vodka and barely use any cranberry juice. I have to say that I like mine to have the citrus/cranberry taste present and not be as strong as a martini since if I wanted that I would just order a vodka martini. My goal, when I came up with this version, was to make it approachable for all my guest, and to have a drink that is by no means weak yet has balanced flavor that is nice to drink and does not scream vodka or alcohol. Some might say this version is heavy on the cranberry, but it gets balanced by the orange notes of the Vodka as well as the Cointreau and the lime juice provides a nice tartness to the finish. I do not recall a single complaint about this drink by those who have tried it. While I know a cosmo is not everyone’s cup of tea, I think this version strikes the “approachable” criteria and taste delicious. Enjoy!!
