The Red Snapper cocktail was something I discovered when down in Panama City Beach Florida as I was sitting at the bar at Pompano’s restaurant (now closed). with my wife Michelle I think I would have avoided this drink if I was told the ingredients because I normally do not lean towards whiskey mixed drinks, however as fate would have it, I asked the bartender to make me one of their popular refreshing drinks since it was a hot day. I was surprised when I got a cranberry looking cocktail and I asked what it was, and the response was a Red Snapper. Appropriate sounding name given the location so a tasted it and was hooked. I choose this wonderful drink for September because it can be enjoyed on a hot or cold day equally as well. I was equally surprised when I asked the ingredients and was told it contained Crown Royal, Disaronno Amaretto, cranberry juice and a squeeze of lime. It’s amazing how the whiskey blended with the almond tasting amaretto and cranberry juice just work together. I do tend to add more amaretto to my recipe than what is normally found online but I feel it adds the depth of flavor needed and the squeeze of lime adds a brightness as well. Don’t shy away from this one if you don’t lean towards whiskey. I feel, like me, you will be presently surprised.

Surprisingly good. I like my whiskey on the rocks but this is very refreshing
